Creating a Safe Space

Hey, I’m Jarett, owner of Becoming Fire Boudoir. I’ve been a boudoir photographer for over seven years now, and I can boldly say it’s one of the most rewarding careers in the world!

I truly feel this way, because I am able to create a safe space for so many people, a space to be vulnerable and authentically you. Although boudoir is all about stepping outside of your comfort zone, it’s also about feeling comfortable enough to be able to obtain that feeling of empowerment.

Your boundaries matter more to me than anything. Before coming in for your shoot I like to get a sense of your overall comfort level, and even after you’ve told me, I still like to approach with caution. We will still start off the session in an outfit you feel most comfortable in, pose in ways that aren’t as vulnerable, and progressively work our way into the more spicy poses. (With your consent of course.) If at any point an outfit or a pose feels uncomfortable for you, please let me know!

I am very easygoing and positive during the session, I will ask if possible to adjust your hair, verbally walk you through any poses, and or have you mirror me. You are in control of the session!

Here are some real sentences from real reviews past clients have left me:

“Such an amazing experience with Jarrett! The studio was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. It was so comfortable and easy to get so many amazing pictures.”

“He helped and walked me through every step, and made me feel so comfortable.”

“This was an awesome an empowering experience! Jarrett was super professional and respectful and showed technical aptitude in how to create the best shots.”

“I was nervous going in, but the whole experience was so lax and comforting. I already want to go back.”

“Throughout the entire session, he was incredibly patient and respectful. He always asked permission before making adjustments or helping me out, which is greatly appreciated for my own comfort.”

“Jarrett always asked permission before touching me to make adjustments to my hair.”

“I had the BEST experience. Being a female I feel like sometimes it can be uncomfortable working with male photographers. I also arrived SOO nervous not ever doing anything like this before, and within 10 minutes I felt so comfortable.”

“Upon arriving at the studio, I experienced the usual nerves, (I thought about canceling because I was so nervous lol) but I quickly felt at ease and comfortable while getting my hair and make-up done. Jarrett is super personable and easy to talk to.”

“He is a professional through and through. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or awkward. In fact, I actually set up a second shoot on location to personalize some of the photos!”

“Jarrett immediately set a laid-back tone for the day that helped me calm my nerves.”

I hope this resonates with you and that you work with someone who makes you feel safe!
