I was truthfully very nervous and apprehensive about immersing myself in the boudoir experience but am so so grateful I did. I was not quite sure what to expect but the experience was different than I expected in the best way possible! The studio is GORGEOUS but what struck me most was how relaxed and laid back the whole session was. It was a no stress, no pressure, move at your own pace, fun time! I have little to no experience posing but Jarrett helped me every step of the way and gave me cues that made me feel at ease and natural in my body. I felt safe, appreciated, beautiful and empowered.
As someone who has has struggled a lot with body image challenges since childhood, boudoir was something I was scared to try but also something I knew would bring me power. Everything about the photoshoot made me feel affirmed in myself, comfortable in my skin and in the room, and emboldened to be me and love who I am now. Jarrett facilitated me just having the best time and forgetting all about my “insecurities.” I cannot wait to see the final photos but from the snippets I saw, I am OBSESSED. I could not even believe the photos were of me!

Jarrett is just absolutely wonderful! I had the pleasure of meeting him to do hair and makeup for some other women doing boudoir shoots a few years ago and have had 2 boudoir sessions with him since.
My last boudoir session was just a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing!! I have gained some weight since my last photos so I was nervous that I’d pick myself apart when I saw the photos but they’re my favorite ones!! I felt so empowered and good about myself when I saw the photos.
Jarrett also helps every step of the way. You don’t need to know how to pose because he shows you exactly how to be for the photos! He even helped me pick out some different outfits because I brought a big bag full of different stuff and I’m indecisive. I have so much fun every time I do photos with him!

Absolutely loved my experience with Jarrett. The studio is beautiful and Jarrett was very professional, welcoming and very fun to work with. I have never done a boudoir shoot so I didn't know what to expect. Jarrett coaches you though exactly how to stand and position yourself so you don't have to worry about how to pose. If you have been contemplating doing a boudoir shoot I recommend Jarrett 1000% He's able to capture yourself in ways you never have thought you could look like. Jarrett and Becoming Fire is hands down amazing. I had a boudoir session a week earlier, with a different photographer, that was not able to capture what I wanted. Jarrett captured me and so much more.
He got me in super quick, as time was of the essence. He made outfit suggestions ahead of time that were just perfect. Jarret is is a true professional and helped me from start to finish. He made me very comfortable, helped choose all of the outfits, was great at directing posing and faces, which is the hardest part.
He literally took the vision I had for my session out of my head and told the story with photos. I cannot stop looking at them. I told him I want to plaster my walls with these beautiful photographs.
If you are debating doing a session, just do it. These are images that will last a lifetime.

My experience from initial consult to the final results was amazing! Jarrett’s response time and turnover time of photos was super fast. Honestly, after having a baby and losing myself and never feeling like i can feel like myself again dang was i wrong. This is the second time I have completed a boudoir photo shoot but my first experience with Jarrett. Let me say, the two experiences were night and day. Jarrett was very professional and has an amazing ability to put your nerves at ease from the very beginning. You can tell he really takes pride in the quality of his work because he was constantly making tweaks to the shot until he achieved a product he knew we would both be happy with. Jarrett always asked permission before touching me to make adjustments to my hair or outfit which I really liked. I also really appreciated his patience with posing me. Sometimes I wouldn't get what he was asking me to do but he would re-explain and demonstrate until I got it. His patience extended to the review session when I had to choose which photos to purchase. This was incredibly hard because they all looked amazing. I deliberated forever but Jarrett never made me feel like I needed to hurry. Throughout the shoot, Jarrett would show me the photos he had taken on his camera which gave me a very needed confidence boost because HOT DAYUM is that really me??? Do yourself a favor and book a session with Jarrett. You will not regret it.

The boudoir experience was pretty bourgeois and located in a clean, sophisticated studio. There were furs, chocolates, wine and all things reminiscent of seduction around for props, if you wanted. Anything to make a wide range of women feel sexy in their own skin was at my disposal. Jarret the photographer really understands how to direct your posing for the best possible shot in the kindest most casual way. He is a people person, that was clear, and it was not awkward at all. Very professional. It was mentioned to me by him that he is used to photographing normal women, not models. But if you look at his photo shoots in the past many of these women look like professional models. He even gave me extra time for more photos since his next photo shoot had been delayed, which wasn’t something he was required to do. On top of that, the edits were tastefully and skillfully completed. They didn’t look edited unless you have the originals for comparison. Because of co-vid I had resorted to dying my own hair and my hair was in an awkward transition from platinum to pink. He somehow made my hair look less ridiculous without taking away from any other elements of the photo. I was on vacation with poor service and the photos wouldn’t download but once I got home to my laptop I was able to save the high quality, stunning edits to soon gift to my fiancé.

I had the BEST experience. Being a female I feel like sometimes it can be uncomfortable working with male photographers. I also arrived SOO nervous not ever doing anything like this before, and with in 10 minutes I felt so comfortable. Jarrett was so respectful and professional. Not only that, his work is BEAUTIFUL! I would recommend him to anyone looking for boudoir or weddings, or any type of photography session he offers because he’s so great! My photos turned out AMAZING, it took me almost a week to chose which ones I wanted because I wanted them all lol. I am so happy and my boyfriend is even more happy! My experience with Jarrett was amazing in its entirety! During the planning and scheduling process all of his responses were prompt and professional. I reached out to Jarrett via Instagram and he was continuously kind and provided me with answers to all of my questions and sent me a direct link to the "Welcome Guide" on his website (worth the read btw!). With scheduling, Jarrett was patient and flexible and I was able to contact him through e-mail as well as text.
Upon arriving at the studio, I experienced the usual nerves, (I thought about canceling because I was so nervous lol) but I quickly felt at ease and comfortable while getting hair and make-up done. Jarrett is super personable and easy to talk to.
When it was time to shoot the nerves crept back in, but Jarrett was completely reassuring and let me know that there was nothing to worry about and that he would take everything from there! Jarrett was also extremely respectful, he asked for permission to move my hand or my hair etc and even refrained from moving my outfits out of the way and asked my friend to do so. As the shoot went on I became more fluid and I just focused on his direction (which was so precise it was great!). I honestly had a hard time keeping a straight face at times because he would throw in a joke here and there lol.
Receiving the pictures back was mind blowing (even before editing!), his eye and way with lighting is INSANE! I felt like I finally got to see myself how others see me! This was literally the boost of confidence that I needed! I immediately wanted to shoot with him again after viewing the pictures (which I 100% plan on doing haha)! If you are looking to step out of your comfort zone and learn to love and appreciate yourself I highly recommend seeing Jarrett for boudoir!

I am OBSESSED with how my boudoir photos turned out - and had the most AMAZING time during my session! I have considered shooting boudoir for years, but kept finding reasons not to. Most of the women I know who have done boudoir did it as a gift for their husband/significant other, and I always loved that idea. But I am not engaged or married, so I knew I would be taking the photos for myself (all my single ladies). So for years, I kept pushing it off (thinking that I didn’t have a good enough reason to do it, or because I didn’t feel “ready” to get in front of a camera just yet). But the second Jarrett and I spoke about options and what to expect, I realized that I didn’t “need” a reason to shoot boudoir. The reality was: I had no reason NOT to do it! So, I booked a session and just before Christmas, as a Christmas gift to myself - and it has honestly been the gift that keeps on giving! I never could have imagined how fun, empowering, and beautiful I felt during and after my shoot. I feel cheesy saying that this experience elevated my confidence, but it really did! Jarrett was incredibly professional and made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. I have always been impressed with Jarrett’s photography skills, but was also very impressed with his directing skills during the shoot. He did a great job finding the most flattering and interesting angles for my body type, as well as making me feel daring enough to take photos that I never pictured myself taking. The photos turned out amazing! I still can’t wrap my head around how he was able to manipulate the lighting in the studio to come up with some many unique looks. Absolutely stunning! This experience was honestly one of the most fun and rewarding things that I have ever done (let alone something that I did just for myself). I walked away with a more positive, healthy perspective of who I am, and felt 100x more comfortable in my own skin. If I could shoot boudoir every year for the rest of my life, as a little reminder to stay true to myself, I would! Plus, it was super fun getting to play dress-up as an adult, just because I wanted to :) If you are considering shooting boudoir with Jarrett, do it! And if you have done it already, I say, do it again!!!

If you are hesitant because he is a male photographer don’t be! He is a professional through and through. At no point did i feel uncomfortable or awkward. I have always loved boudoir but never thought that it was something I could do. When I came across Alice Heart Photography’s Boudoir page, I felt safer and more comfortable about doing one for myself. I booked my appointment, and I was encouraged to bring a close friend of mine. When we showed up, Jarrett immediately set a laid-back tone for the day that helped me calm my nerves. It was easy. He helped me plan the outfits, guided me during posing, and made me feel confident. There was a very fun moment when Jarrett held two box fans in either arm to help cool me down! I got my album back the other day. It is beautiful, and I have to say, I feel beautiful too. I can’t begin to explain how amazing my session with Jarrett went!! I was extremely hesitant at the beginning for several reasons which I feel many of you reading this review are circling around the same hesitations. 1. I didn’t feel like I was in shape enough, I wish my thighs were smaller and my stomach was flatter....so on and so forth. 2. The sticker shock of the price 3. I’m shy, awkward in front of the camera and not photogenic. 4. It’s a guy...is that going to be weird...will I be uncomfortable I danced around all these questions/concerns/fears for quite a while before I finally pulled the trigger and let me tell you I am SO glad I did! From the very beginning Jarrett was wonderful at communication and helping you understand the process of what to expect now that you have booked your session. I showed up on the day of my shoot to the studio in Plymouth shaking in my boots with nerves. While I was getting hair and make up done we made small talking getting to know one another and let me just say Jarrett is an awesome person. Very down to earth and easy to talk to. Once hair and make up was done we picked out my outfits and he had me change into the first outfit. As I walked out I felt very weird as I have not been in front of another man in lingerie besides my fiance for the last five years. I’m not going to lie the first 10 minutes were an odd feeling I kept thinking “oh man that did I get myself into. I can’t do this.” After those first 10 minutes I began to feel WAY more comfortable and confident with the help and direction from Jarrett. He was kind, encouraging and extremely professional. I never once felt uncomfortable or felt that he crossed a line of any sort. He was VERY respectful. By the end of the shoot I was so comfortable I found myself making small talk and laughing with Jarrett like old buddies just chilling in my lingerie. He is creative with his photos and can make just about anything work. Once we finished up, I asked how long should I expect to wait until I get the proofs. He said roughly 1-2 weeks. I received all my photos back in 2 days!!! I couldn’t believe the person I was looking at in those photos were me! I felt so confident, sexy, strong, and powerful. I saw myself in a whole new light. He has a way of highlighting and showcasing what you have always had just never noticed it before. I can’t stop looking at my photos he sent. It was next to impossible for me to pick just 12 images that was included in my package for my album. The album is going to be a wedding gift for my fiance to open before he sees my walk down the isle. I CANNOT wait for him to see these images Jarrett was able to capture. After the whole experience was said and done and pictures viewed I would spend the money all over again in a heart beat. Completely worth every penny! I plan on booking another session in the future with him!! Do yourself a favor and book a session with Jarrett, I PROMISE you will NOT regret your decision!
