Choosing what to wear for a boudoir session can be one of the most exciting parts of the experience. You do not need to have a closet full of lingerie or know exactly what looks good on camera. The best outfits are usually the ones that make you feel like yourself, just a little more intentional.
There is no single "right" boudoir outfit. Some clients love traditional lingerie, while others prefer an oversized button-down, a fitted bodysuit, a favorite pair of jeans, or something completely personal.

For most boudoir sessions, three to five outfit options is a good starting point.
That does not mean you have to photograph all five.
We'll look at what you brought, consider how the pieces work together, and decide which outfits will give you the strongest variety.
It's usually better to bring a few options than to arrive with one outfit you're unsure about.
What If You Don't Own Any Boudoir Outfits?
That's completely fine.
You do not need to buy an expensive lingerie wardrobe for your session.
Start with things you already own. A button-down shirt, a dress, a robe, jeans, or even a simple bralette can become part of a great boudoir look.
If you do want to purchase something specifically for your session, there are plenty of lingerie options at different price points. The goal isn't to find the most expensive outfit. It's to find something that fits well and makes you feel good wearing it.
The Most Important Part of Your Boudoir Outfit
Your outfit should support the photograph, but it shouldn't be more important than how you feel wearing it.
If you love the way you look in something, that confidence tends to come through in the final images.
You also don't have to know how to pose or know which outfits will photograph best. That's part of the photographer's job.
