I've been photographing weddings since 2010 and boudoir since 2016. Boudoir started as something I added onto wedding packages for extra income. It turned into the part of the job I actually look forward to.
“I do boudoir because sometimes we all need a little push, a push to help us overcome our fears and doubts. Whether it be not feeling confident in your own skin anymore or just simply letting go of the feeling that we cannot fully control everything in our lives. My hope is to empower women and help them feel as beautiful as they are, to embrace their inner and outer beauty. I hope to inspire others to find that confidence again, to show them how absolutely perfect their imperfections really are.”

I do boudoir… To show “YOU” what's been there all along.
Most women who sit in front of my camera haven't seen themselves the way others already do in a long time, if ever. They show up a little nervous, unsure what to do with their hands, convinced they're going to feel awkward the whole time. That's my job to handle, not yours. I'll guide you through every pose, show you exactly where to put your hands, how to stand, and help you relax as we go. You don't need any experience, and you don't have to walk in already feeling confident. You just need to show up. I'll take care of the rest so you can focus on being present in the moment.
Serving Women Across Michigan
Becoming Fire is based at 116 E Washington Street in downtown Ann Arbor, and women travel in from across Southeast Michigan for it. We also shoot on location at a boutique hotel or in your own space for clients who'd rather stay closer to home, but Ann Arbor is home base and where most sessions land.
What a Session Actually Looks Like
The Consult. We talk before anything else: outfits, questions, whatever's on your mind about the day. In person, by phone, or on FaceTime, whatever's easier for you.
The Investment. A $600 deposit holds your date. Collections start at $1,500 and include hair and makeup, a set number of edited digital images, and your reveal appointment.
Session Day. Hair and makeup runs about 90 minutes to 2 hours. Shooting itself is 90 to 120 minutes. Bring your outfits already packed, nails done, and skip the lotion that morning so it doesn't affect makeup application.
The Reveal. About 1 to 2 weeks later, you'll come back to see your images for the first time and pick your favorites. Final images take 2 to 6 weeks; a custom album adds another 2 to 6 weeks on top of that.

Where We Shoot
Sessions happen at 116 E Washington Street in downtown Ann Arbor, and in downtown Detroit in a rented 1920s house with the kind of light and character you can't fake in a commercial studio space. It's set up around you before you walk in: hair and makeup station ready, music going, nothing to figure out.
For clients who'd rather stay closer to home, we also shoot on location at a boutique hotel or in your own space. Wherever we land, the experience is the same, guided from start to finish, just you and your photographer in the room.

Ann Arbor is where this all started, and it's still where most of our sessions happen. A lot of the women who book here found us through a friend who did a session first and couldn't stop talking about how she felt walking out. That's usually how it goes in this town.
